Hardware requirements and supported devices for Tapaya Accept SDK.

Tapaya Accept SDK transforms standard mobile devices into secure payment terminals. Compatibility varies by operating system and the specific payment method being used.

Android Requirements

To ensure a smooth payment experience and compliance with security standards, the host device must meet the following minimum requirements. Each one is a precondition for the SDK's attestation and monitoring checks: where a requirement is not met, the SDK refuses to start rather than running with reduced assurance.

Device Integrity

These checks are continuous, not a one-time gate at startup. A device that stops meeting a requirement during a session, for example because a debugger attaches, also stops being able to process transactions.

Supported Devices for Tap to Pay

While many modern Android devices work, the following list represents devices that have been explicitly tested and are known to perform reliably with Tapaya Accept SDK. Devices are grouped into dedicated SoftPOS hardware (purpose-built payment terminals) and general-purpose mobile phones.

Google Play Services Not Required

Dedicated SoftPOS terminals from vendors such as Sunmi and iMin are frequently shipped without Google Mobile Services (GMS). Tapaya Accept SDK does not depend on GMS, so these devices work out of the box.

Legacy Sunmi Models

Older Sunmi handhelds such as the V2 Pro, L2, and T2 Lite/T2s Lite ship locked to Android 7.1-9 with no upgrade path and do not meet the Android 11 minimum. Confirm the OS version of your specific unit before deployment.
